About OCN London
What are OCN Bespoke Qualifications?
We have teamed up with OCN London to write our own syllabus and put together a teaching package from our 25 years of industry experience and offer qualifications that are relevant and useful to the students, salons and clinics. We make sure our students are theoretically competent but more importantly great at their job and valuable within the industry.
Why did Revival create an OCN bespoke qualification?
All of the tutors within our academy currently work in our clinic as well, therefore are therapists that are up to date with current trends it can be frustrating to teach a qualification that is 20 years out of that date contains irrelevant theory that is repeated and repeated.
Currently the beauty industry is booming with the aesthetic treatments such as advanced peels, micro-needling, mesotherapy, injectables, PRP, and the awarding bodies such as VTCT, ITEC, Cidesco, don’t offer these courses. Due to the technicality of these treatments it has become crucial to have the 5 & 6 courses accredited by a recognised awarding body.
We believe that more time should be given to preparing the students to understand and deliver quality treatments that could help them to secure a job at the end.
OCN bespoke course option gives us an opportunity prepare our students practically so that we can arm them with essential skills and confidence to enable them to carry out salon standard treatments in the workplace.
OCN London
OCN qualifications are assessed internally and externally.
Our Internal Assessment process includes a theory exam paper, practical assessment and oral underpinning knowledge questioning plus case studies. The entire assessment process is set, marked and internally quality assured by the Revival Academy team of assessors and internal verifiers.
External Assessment is sampled by OCN external quality assurers. The OCN External assessors sample the student’s portfolio of theory assignments, exam papers and the student’s carrying out practical assessments.
For practical elements, you will be required to complete a competent assessment for each unit where you will be observed by your assessor. Your portfolio of evidence will go through the centres internal quality assurance process to ensure that it meets the regulatory requirements.
The portfolio is a record of your practical assessments, theory exam paper results, case studies and completed theory assignments.
You will need to hand in the completed portfolio, practically complete all the units, learning outcomes and criteria before you can be certified.
Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence and how to show practical achievement and understanding of the knowledge required to successfully complete the qualification. It is with the portfolio of evidence that will serve as the prime source of evidence for this qualification.
